The crew who are responsible for the return of the Honda series to Wales were keen to tell their story and unveil the boat in which they will be representing Wales as part of the Honda Championship. Both crew members are said to be prepared for the Grand Prix Race which will take place this weekend May 9th and 10th from Pwllheli, Hafan Marina.

“Today’s press day was brilliant; I was surprised at the media turn out that was present here at the Pwllheli Sailing Club. The team is ready for the weekend now. We brought the boat up to Wales a month ago and we have been testing it ever since. Seeing as Andy is based in Pwllheli it has enabled him and his staff to get to know the boat intimately and prepare for the first Grand Prix. This is actually the 2007 Championship winning boat, so it would be great to see it win again this season”, said Chris Smith – Navigator.

Title sponsor Honda will be present over the weekend with a huge product display based inside the Sailing Club grounds. Local Honda dealer Robert Owen Marine will also be in attendance offering a great show where the public will be able to see some of the fantastic Honda product available.

The F4SA celebrate their 10th anniversary this year alongside Honda who created the series back in 1999. Since this time their fleet of boats has grown from just four which raced in Torquay in May 1999 to the impressive display of Cougar powerboats flanking both the 150hp and 225hp classes today. This season will see up to twenty striking speed machines kicking off the 2009 season at this fantastic Welsh Grand Prix Race Weekend.
