HONDA SET TO TAKE CENTRE STAGE ON SUCCESS OF AIR FESTIVAL |

With only days to go until the start of the Honda Formula 4-Stroke Grand Prix of Lowestoft, anticipation of this weekend’s racing is already filling the East Coast upon the hype of the successful Lowestoft Air Festival.

The Honda powerboat event which is following on into the weekend (July 25th & 26th) from the Air Festival is set to attract a staggering amount of spectators in light of their success in 2008.
Lings Honda will act as the headquarters of the event this weekend starting with a drivers briefing which will be held at 6:30pm on Friday. The full fleet of powerboats are due to start arriving from tomorrow just before the brief into Haven Marina along with their crew and sponsors.
Attending the briefing will be Lowestoft Mayor Malcolm Cherry and the Mayoress, representatives from Honda UK and Ebel the official timing partner to the series. Commander Brian Wheeler the F4SA’s Officer of the Day will run the briefing and will outline the rules for the weekend.
Racing will begin on Saturday morning at 11:00am with the 150hp fleet followed at 12:30pm by the 225hp fleet and again at 1:30pm by the final 150hp race. Spectators will be able to see the racing that comes very close to the shore from the main promenade, Royal Plain end.
Sunday will kick start another action packed day at 10:30am as the 225hp fleet take to their positions followed at 12:00pm by the 150hp boats and at 1:00pm for the final race of the Grand Prix as the 225hp race ends the event.
Honda enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Lings Dealership will be showing a collection of Honda’s latest technology on Royal Plain throughout the two day event with a podium prize giving ceremony from 3:00pm on both days for the Honda F4SA race winners.
Managing Director from Ebel Jason Yorke-Edgell will present the awards on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday Mayor Malcolm Cherry will present the final podium positions that will be crucial to the championship standings for this 3rd leg of the season.
