The UK’s largest Off-shore powerboat series The Honda Formula 4-Stroke Association (F4SA) will be putting on a display this year at the Royal Docks of London. The water which is normally closed due to air traffic will be opened up to the series as part of the London City Airport’s fun day that will be held on Saturday 5th July 2008.

The F4SA have been given the exclusive opportunity of being the only water based display at the event which is in its 12th year and coincides with the 21st birthday of the airport. The series will be halfway through their 2008 race season when they will allow up to six of their powerboats time out from their UK tour to put on a spectacular show for the crowds.

Red Devil from the 225hp fleet alongside Locamotion, Claygate & Spirit of Octane from the 150hp fleet will be let lose onto the otherwise private waters to show London that handling a Honda Formula 4-Stoke powerboat isn’t for the faint-hearted. The 5-race season runs from May to September, culminating this year in the IOM for the Championship.

“We are offered to race all over the UK every year but to be invited by the City of London to take part in this event really does prove that the F4SA are putting power boating on the map. We will be holding our championships at the IOM in September this year, so I am sure we will be making use of the flights out of London City to get there.” said eight times Class One World Champion Steve Curtis and F4SA series Director.
